If we start with the premise that life is hard, happiness comes and goes, that the moment is always behind us — and then find comfort in philosophers and cyclical friends, we’ll save a ton of money in workshops. When I’m working with clients going through tough things, just letting them know that it’s okay not be happy is like introducing a foreign language, but as their expectation shifts so does their ability to relate and heal.
