I agree that narcissists also need understanding and treatment in the same way that I agree that someone who is a serial murderer needs understanding and treatment, but that empathy needs to come at the hands of those providing treatment rather than in hearts of potential or current victims. Understanding narcissism helps us draw boundaries. We all should be more educated about the symptoms and cycles of narcissism so that we may better make our own personal choices.
